She plays a leadership role as Vice President of Students Against Substance Abuse (S.A.S.A.), where she takes the helm at planning many events like Safe Driving Week and Red Ribbon Week, dedicated to encouraging students to stand up against drugs. Aside from that, Amanda and her father share his experience with students to hit home the message against drinking and driving.
Amanda’s outstanding academic performance, added to volleyball, theater and service as a counselor at a local day camp, round out her contributions to her community. Amanda plans to attend LSU to pursue a degree in sociology with a concentration in criminology. She would like to follow up with law school, become a federal prosecutor, and ultimately work for the FBI. Congratulations to Amanda Ahner, our May 2012 Charter Business HERO award winner.
