Her stellar academic record, coupled with her involvement with everything from theater productions, school masses, extracurricular school clubs, and community service organizations, has enabled Mimi to pursue her first love—the theater. She has earned the Alumnae Association Scholarship for school involvement, the Most Outstanding Citizen Award at Girl’s State, and she has had leading roles in several school productions including her most current in SSA’s upcoming production of Hairspray.
What sets Mimi apart from other teens her age, is her long-term life goals. “I plan to major in Musical Theater in college, but my ultimate life goal is to return to the Northshore and open a performing arts academy,” she says. “With so much raw talent in this area, I think it is something we need here.” For now, she will continue on with her favorite activities, like watching Food Network with her Mom, and working at her job as an assistant dance instructor where she watches young girls, “fall in love with dance” just as she did.
Congratulations to Mary Margaret Scardulla, Mimi, our April 2012 Charter Business HERO award winner.
