Don’t ever kill a honey bee, they are important in the gardening plan. They pollinate the flowers of fruits and vegetables in our land.
Earthworms aerate the compost, adding nutrients to the soil.
Sun heats up the garden. Rain keeps it from packing. Their ultra heat and water help is never slacking.
The ladybugs are tiny, but their strength is undiminished, as they gobble up the aphids and fight them to the finish.
When you study, learn and understand Nature’s helping way. Your work will become an easy task and a tribute to your day.
Make sure your house plants have not been forgotten. Place them inside near a sunny window, or in an airy room away from drafts, heaters or vents. Pothos, Spathiphyllum, and miniature palms are some inside favorites. The greenhouse should have water in bowls for humidity and the temperature set at around 50 degrees. Use a fan to keep fresh air flowing in and out. All plants should be checked for disease before entering the greenhouse or your home, or disease may spread throughout. Be aware that your plants will automatically rotate toward the sun, so turn them frequently so they are not lopsided.
If a plant becomes sickly, check soil, aerate it and look for mites, aphids or overwatering. Evacuate it immediately for inspection and cure. Happy thoughts of spring, new designs in the garden, appreciating and working with Mother Nature will always live uppermost in the heart of a person loving and understanding gardening. Happy year ahead!

When you become a gardener, taking interest in the land, you are “in tune” with Mother Nature as you lend a helping hand. She is number one supporter in most everything we do, as she quietly plays a part in making dreams come true. She has a host of workers who have jobs to do each day. They come into our gardens to help—each in a different way.
